This is an 8-hour training certification course which teaches participants a five-step action plan to assess a situation, select and implement interventions and secure appropriate care for the individual, the certifcation program introduces partipants to rish factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact and overviews common treatments.

  • Social entrepreneurship Regional Training

Panhandle Partnership for Health and Human Services (PPHHS) and Panhandle Area Development District are holding the first in a series of four workshops to help inform and educate Panhandle organizations, businesses, economic development entities, levels of government and funding institutions on the concepts of social entrepreneurship. Participants will develop collaborative understanding and

agreement about whether social entrepreneurship is a viable framework for pursuing new levels of collaboration, engagement, and community investment in the Panhandle. Lunch will be served!

  • Motivational Interviewing Phase II

​​Phase II will offer a 2 day training focused on taking MI skills to the next level and continuing to build upon the structure of Phase I.  Participants that have completed Phase I successfully, will enhance their skill level in dealing with resistance to the change process and their communication style.  Must have taken Motivational Interviewing Phase I prior to January 15, 2014.

  • Southern panhandle early childhood Conference 

This is a wonderful training opportunity for those who care for and about children and families.  The conference offers participants the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge, skills and expertise on variety of topics including current resourses to support their educational efforts.  Keynote speaker is Cari Ebert "The Power of Play"

Registration cost is $35 until April 7th, then cost increases to $40.

​​Learn the difference between Compassion Fatigue, Vicarious Trauma, and Burnout.  Identify warning signs, develop early detection strategies, and identify triggers.  Explain strategies to transform Compassion Fatigue into Compassion Satisfaction.  Discuss current findings to include incidence rates of CF and VT. Distinguish what other organizations have done to promote resilience in the workplace. Restate four concrete strategies for a healthier work environment.

  • Responsible Beverage service training (Rbst)

RBST educates owners, managers, servers and sellers at alcohol establishments about strategies to avoid illegally selling alcohol to underage youth or intoxicated patrons. The training is free and available throughout the Panhandle at a Tele-Video
